TITLE: 18 WAYS TO NURTURE YOURSELF. THE AMERICAN DREAM.
The below was taken from "18 Easy Ways to Nurture Yourself", by Deb Donovan from ivillage.com. Try it! I don't want to forget it so I'm posting it here hee.
Omigush, this is SSSOOOO CUTE LAH! Hee!
Recently, I've been immersed in the world of Chinese literature! The lecturer's easy-going manner makes it easier for us to relate to this ancient world of treasures and heritage! I'm very much awed by it and I feel touched more than a few times. There's so much beauty, "aesthetic value" as they call it. He's funny too! The way he talks, like many Chinese from China, is really amusing!
I do feel that there's a lot of work to be done. I spent half the afternoon catching up on a few readings. WOOH, GRACE IS NEVER HARDWORKING. It might change. I think it has already changed. Everyone in university is so diligent. They make it a point to do their readings, speak up during class, write lots of notes... I guess it's peer pressure and "kiasu-ness" that made me buck up. Nonetheless, I still can't bear being that hardworking. All the "Big Homework" are quite frustrating. But I've decided to:
This was what I told Sam when I went her house on 31 Aug 07' (Fri) in the middle of the night to prepare for the Hougang Mall Camp-out Challenge thing. Quite crazy la, cycle to her house at 11 plus at night! But what to do, we've already taken up the challenge. Though we didn't win, like the rest of the 25 groups out of the 28, I'm glad I endured all of it. I got to know Bandy (Sam) and Min better, deeper in a sense. m_m Of cuz, being able to laugh loads is a great gift from the two of them plus Min's Sis - Huiru jiejie...
I'm so random now. Oh yea, wanted to say I'll post the pics for this Campout thing when I get them from the respective people. Yea, I reminded myself to get it from them. I'd have forgotten otherwise. I didn't even mention this Campout thing. There's a small chance that I might have already met my fellow playmate when I was young? I lurve my babysitter. Wahah...
Recent things that I'm really very happy about:
~*~ 13 Sep 07' (Thu) Went to Changi Airport welcome Min back to Singapore with Poh Ying (Tyris), Bandy and Poh Hui. Thanks Weixiang for the ride. Bad Sam, she suggested that someone looks like Doraemon. I was kinda blue on the train ride there, like I told them. I really cheered up upon reaching there! Fun and laughter on the way back, on the car, I mean. Thanks for the Disneyland friendship band. 367 Yen, quite ex leh! And Min Rabbit bought 6 for all of us, including herself. Forever friendship, my gurls! I ate the two cakes she bought too. [1 choc + 1 cheese] --> I said, I was feeling a little hungry.
I smiled to a gurl on the skytrain to Terminal 1 twice. Just felt like doing it. It was joyful.
Argh, I'm lazy to write more mmmmmmmmmm....

"The soul has an absolute, unforgiving need for regular excursions into enchantment. It requires them like the body needs food and the mind needs thought."--Thomas Moore
- Allow yourself some private time each day, even if it is only a half hour. [I do]
- Take a long walk. [I do]
- Buy a bouquet of flowers for yourself. [No money.]
- Begin to develop an intimate circle of friends and family. [I have.]
- Turn off the phone and allow your answering machine to pick up your calls. [I don't have an answering machine.]
- Put on your favorite music, turn it up loud and dance. [Boo, haven't done it in a long while. I lurve dancing!]
- Call your best friend and settle in with a hot cup of tea, for a good long talk.
- Snuggle up in bed with a good book.
- Sink into your tub for a long, luxurious soak at the end of the day. [I don't have a bathtub.]
- Indulge in getting (or giving) a massage. [I lurve massages. Thanks Papa! + Sang!]
- Snack on your favorite "comfort food."
- Remember how you felt when you fell in love with your partner and allow yourself to recreate that feeling.
- Write a love letter (to your partner, children, parents, friends...)
- Treat yourself to a manicure and a pedicure.
- Rent a great video.
- Start a gratitude journal and express your thanks on a daily basis. [Yippie! I do! And I have many other books for different stuff and purposes!]
- Go to the beach. Delight and bask in the warming rays of the sun.
- Visit your favorite bookstore (the one with comfortable chairs and a coffee shop) and spend the afternoon.

What I enjoy:
I really enjoy fooling around with Sang every night. I still try to write down all the "classic" words/stuff/phrases she says. Never fails to perk me up when I'm done and I re-read. She "massaged" me by shaking my bed so that the entire bed frame vibrated and it felt so comfy 1 fine night. Oooh... So nice of her!
I enjoy laughing nonstop with Evelyn. It's like so giggly and it's so funny! I enjoy going for dance practices with Evelyn, be it Lindy Hop, Tap Dance, Dancesport Academy (V. funny experience! Like a guy who has quite a feminine name and has the shape of a racerback on the back of his shirt! Wahah! We pass by people canoeing in a swimming pool, it looked like one guy had a tube! Wahah!) Thanks, my US fren, I think I'd be so lost if you ever vanished! To US we go.
Yea yea yea.
Go go go.
With Xiaofan and Terence and whoever wants to come along! The American Dream haha.
At that, I enjoy laughing with Pammy too. [Miss ya gurl!] Shuhui, Rachel [the rebel], Cheng Teng, Hailin, Chong Yan, Huai Yeek [sneaky]...
